Japanese Suburb painting
After drawing exclusively with pencils for a long time, I felt a strong urge to create something with some color to it.
I loved the look of paintings but worried that my skills in terms of painting would not match up to my sketches, since working with colors is a whole new layer of complication.
But I decided to take up the challenge. Since paintings are usually landscapes, I decided take keep up with that trend and chose to draw a quaint Japanese suburb during cherry blossom season.
It was quite a struggle since I only had access to a basic six color acrylic paint set, considering I wasn't going to invest in a better paint set until I was certain that it's something I enjoy doing.
Regardless, after a few weeks of working on the line art, painting, retracing the line art with different colors for a sharper look, it was finally complete on the 15th of February, 2021.
I was very pleased with myself when I finished this since for a first attempt, this was quite well done, keeping the limitation on paint variety in mind.
