The Wind Rises doodle
Over the past year, I've had some personal grievances to tackle and something that I've consistently found some solace in has been Studio Ghibli movies.
The innocent protagonists, beautiful animation, amazing voice acting, and captivating stories they tell have never failed to bring a smile to my face and cheer me up at least a little bit.
The most recent one I've watched was The Wind Rises, an excellent movie without a doubt. And while working on this very website, I started overthinking and felt a bit low at one point.
Considering how busy high school had kept me, I hadn't gotten the chance to draw much so far this year. And so in a split decision on the night of 23rd July, 2023, I decided to doodle a scene from The Wind Rises, featuring the protagonists Jiro and Naoko sharing an umbrella in the rain.
The couple of hours it took to complete felt entirely worth it, as it not only reestablished my love for art but also helped me calm down and regain my sense of self.
